The Canadian Society for Asbestos Victims (CanSAV), with assistance from the Asbestos-related Research, Education and Advocacy Fund (AREA Fund) organized a Town Hall Meeting on Asbestos in Powell River, BC. The event was sponsored by the local mill, CEP Local 76.

The event was very well attended; approximately 90 people came to the meeting where a speakers panel shared asbestos-related information and answered questions.

Ban Asbestos Petitions were also available at the meeting for signing.
