April 28th is the international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work. Every year, WorkSafeBC, along with the BC Federation of Labour and the Business Council of BC, co-host a public ceremony to remember workers who have lost their lives as a result of work-related accidents or occupational diseases.

This year, the AREA Fund was officially announced at the Workers’ Memorial Day event in Vancouver by Jim Sinclair, BC Federation of Labour President.
